Your domains belong in your account, not scattered across services. A Nominet TAG identifies your registrar. Deliver a catch to your TAG and the name appears alongside the rest of your portfolio the same day — no transfer forms, no waiting.
No TAG? No problem. We hold the caught name for you, and you can move it to any registrar whenever you like. Buying and selling with us stays exactly as simple as the auction room.

What is a domain backorder?
When a .co.uk or .uk name isn’t renewed, Nominet eventually releases it back to the open market — the “drop”. A backorder is a standing instruction: the moment the name drops, our catching fleet competes to register it before anyone else. If we catch it, it’s yours.
What is a Nominet TAG?
Every .uk registrar operates under a Nominet identifier called a TAG. If you hold your domains with a registrar — or run your own TAG as a Nominet member — we can move a caught name directly onto that TAG, so it lands in the account where you manage the rest of your portfolio.
What does it cost?
Nothing to place a backorder, and nothing at all if we don’t catch the name. The catch fee is agreed with you when you place the order, before the drop — you’ll never be surprised by it.
What are the chances of catching a name?
It depends on the name. Sought-after domains are contested by several catching operations at the instant of release, and no honest service guarantees a catch. Our fleet competes at Nominet’s rate limits; we’ll tell you frankly how contested we expect a drop to be.
When does the name drop?
Nominet publishes which names are due for release. Once you place a backorder we track the schedule and confirm the expected drop window, then report the result to you on the day.
What if more than one person backorders the same name?
First come, first served: the earliest confirmed backorder takes the name if we catch it. If we can’t take your order because the name is already spoken for, we’ll tell you straight away.
