Who we are

What we collect and why
We collect account and identity details — your name, email address, and the documents needed to verify you — so we can confirm who is bidding and meet our anti-fraud obligations. We collect bidding and transaction data, including the domains you bid on and buy, to run auctions and settle sales. We collect payment and escrow details to take payment and release funds. We also collect basic technical data, such as the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
Our lawful basis
We rely on contract to run your account and complete sales; on legal obligation to verify identity and keep tax and accounting records; on legitimate interests to prevent fraud and improve the service, balanced against your rights; and on consent where we send optional updates, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary to complete a sale. That includes the independent escrow provider that holds and releases funds, the registry and registrars needed to transfer a domain, our identity-verification and payment providers, our professional advisers, and the authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is open and for a period afterwards to meet legal, tax, and accounting duties — usually six years. Identity-verification documents are held for the period the law requires, then deleted.
International transfers
Some of our providers operate outside the UK. Where your data is transferred abroad, we make sure it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as approved contractual clauses.
Cookies
We use the cookies needed to run the site — keeping you signed in, remembering your filters, and keeping the auction secure. We do not use advertising trackers.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ukdomainauctions.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.
