You set a reserve price with our guidance — the lowest figure you’ll accept. Bidding is public, but the reserve is not shown. If bidding closes below it, the domain doesn’t sell and no money changes hands.

A valuation comes back within one working day. Once you consign, your domain joins the next daily catalogue. The hammer falls at 8pm, and payment settles through escrow shortly after.

It costs you nothing. You can relist it in a later catalogue, adjust the reserve, or withdraw it. There is no penalty for a domain that doesn’t meet its reserve.

After the buyer’s payment clears escrow, you release the name through Nominet’s registrar system. Funds are released to you once the domain is confirmed in the buyer’s account — usually within 24 hours.

A broker guesses a price and negotiates in private. An auction puts your name in front of thousands of verified buyers and lets competitive bidding set the real market price — in public, on a fixed date.
